History of Marion Chamber
The Marion Chamber of Commerce was reorganized in 1968 and was chartered by the state of South Carolina on September 5th of that year. It is an association of business and professional people who have joined together in order to work toward greater economic and civic development. In other words, to make Marion a better place to live and do business.
Our Chamber relies on the age-old principle of mutual self-help through voluntary cooperation. The Marion Chamber utilizes the talent and imagination of its leadership in planning and carrying out sound programs designed to solve problems and to seek opportunities.
Our Chamber has two primary functions:
-
It acts as a spokesman for the business community and translates into action the group thinking of its members.
-
It renders specific services of a type that can be most effectively given by a local development organization both to its membership and the community as a whole.
